Dear ESPHI Members,
First of all I would like to express my gratitude to all of you who participated on the Biannual Congress of ESPHI (5-7 May, 2005, Budapest, Hungary). It was a great pleasure for all of the Board Members to meet with the active members of our Society. During the Congress a General Assembly was held. Professor László Maródi terminated his presidency of ESPHI. In behalf of my name, all of the Board Members and the entire Society, I would like to thank for all his outstanding work made as a president of our society. It is not over exaggerated to say László Maródi placed ESPHI back to its righteous place.
Preparations for ESPHI 2007 at Greece are at a fairly advanced stage. The preliminary program is available soon in printed material, and will be posted on the ESPHI website.
As all of you noticed, unfortunately, the ESPHI website (http://www.esphi.org) had not been updated after the Budapest Congress. However, recently we hired a web designer company to maintain this field of communication. Hopefully, the new content will be a stirring way to keep our daily communication active. Legal actions have been taken to buy the www.esphi.eu domain name, too.
I would like to use the opportunity to draw your attention to our new contest of designing a mascot for our news letters and website.
Let me end on a positive note with this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm".
Miklós Garami, M.D., Ph.D.
